The Meditator’s Nest is a month-long set of meditation instructions collected by Khenpo Jamyang Tenzing. These profound teachings are the essential foundation for Buddhist practice. They range from the core Buddhist teachings of the classical Indian Treatises to the oral pith instructions of the great Tibetan lamas. In the morning sessions, Khenpo Jamyang Tenzing will present a detailed teaching on the different aspects of meditation listed below. The afternoon session will be a combination of Q&A and guided group practice.

Topics Covered
During this month-long workshop, we will invest one week on each one of four crucial areas of meditation.
  • Going for refuge marks the beginning of the path and the perfection of refuge is enlightenment. Therefore, in the first week we will delve into refuge as explained by Maitreya in his Sutralamkara along with a detailed understanding of the three buddha bodies elucidated in the Uttaratantra.
  • The method aspect of the path relies heavily on the spectrum of altruism, from love all the way up to bodhicitta. In this second week, we will go deeply into the theory and practice of developing the four immeasurables and the two bodhicittas.
  • The third week will present the key elements of meditation, highlighting the obstacles we may face on our inner journey along with the remedies we will need to employ in order to overcome them.
  • The fourth week is all about Karma. Since our fate lies in our ability to control and transcend karma, in this final week we will explore its origin, effects, power and finally, how to purify our negative karmic deeds and habitual patterns.
